PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD

This unit standard applies to persons who will, through the application of knowledge of the current legislation, carry, handle, shoot and maintain a manually operated rifle or carbine for business purposes. A person credited with this unit standard will be able to:

• 117705: Demonstrate knowledge of the Firearms Control Act (Act No. 60 of 2000)
• 119652: Handle and use a shotgun.
• 119651: Handle and use a manually operated rifle or carbine.
• 119649: Handle and use a handgun.
• 119650: Handle and use a self-loading Rifle or carbine
  
• Communication at NQF level 02.LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING.
